AstraNICE is the fruit of research carried out at LBP, in the Photoactive Materials and Bioimaging team headed by Andrey Klymchenko. It responds to the need identified by a surgeon, Michele Diana, for safer image-guided practice in the field of minimally invasive surgery.
AstraNICE is developing a near-infrared fluorescent coating for surgical equipment, enabling surgeons to increase the precision and efficiency of their gestures.
This new technology has been supported by the Institut de Chirurgie guidée par l'image (IHU) and the Institut de Recherche Contre les Cancers de l'Appareil Digestif (IRCAD) in Strasbourg.
AstraNICE is the result of a partnership with John Volke and ongoing support from SATT CONECTUS, SEMIA, Quest for Health, Unistra and CNRS.
