We Congratulate Rémi Pelletier on His Success in the CNRS Competition and His Recruitment as a Research Engineer

A Scientific Career Dedicated to Innovation in Biomedical Imaging

We are proud to announce Rémi Pelletier’s success in the CNRS competition and his recruitment as a research engineer. After actively contributing to the laboratory’s work as a postdoctoral researcher, Rémi now continues his commitment within our team with a permanent position. His expertise, at the interface of chemistry and biotechnology, enriches our unit’s skills in developing molecular tools for biomedical imaging.

Holder of an engineering degree and a PhD in radiochemistry, Rémi conducted his thesis at CEA-Saclay (Service Hospitalier Frédéric Joliot), where he worked on the development of fluorine-18-labeled radiotracers for PET imaging in oncology. This experience allowed him to acquire solid expertise in isotopic labeling chemistry, the design of probes for in vivo imaging, and a deep understanding of the translational challenges in medical imaging.

In 2021, he joined Andrey Klymchenko’s team, where he contributed to the development of innovative fluorescent probes for bioimaging and microscopy. His work strengthened a multidisciplinary approach, combining organic chemistry, photophysics, and cell biology. His research focuses on the synthesis of fluorophores, their spectroscopic characterization, and their evaluation in microscopy and cellular models.

His future projects aim to develop new fluorescent molecular probes for studying complex biological processes. By combining synthetic chemistry, advanced optical characterization, and cellular imaging, Rémi seeks to design innovative tools to improve the resolution, sensitivity, and specificity of imaging techniques. These projects will rely on the platforms and expertise of the LBP, while strengthening collaborations between chemists, biologists, and physicists.

Congratulations, Rémi !
