Thesis opportunity: Structural characterization of RNA lipid nanoparticles for therapeutic applications
The Laboratoire de Bioimagerie et Pathologies (UMR7021 - CNRS), located within the Faculty of Pharmacy in Illkirch, is offering an innovative thesis opportunity in the field of biotechnologies and advanced imaging. Our team, renowned for its expertise in biophysics and bio-imaging, is dedicated to exploring fundamental mechanisms and improving cutting-edge therapeutic tools.
Faced with the growing development of nucleic acid-based therapies, notably messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and interfering RNAs (iRNAs), this thesis project aims to overcome the challenges associated with their intracellular delivery by studying lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). These vectors play a key role in the stabilization, vectorization and delivery of RNA therapeutics. However, the internal structure of LNPs, which directly influences their biological efficacy, remains poorly understood.
By joining our laboratory, you will participate in interdisciplinary research combining spectroscopic, microscopic and molecular biology approaches to elucidate the structural characteristics of LNPs. This collaborative project is supported by cutting-edge technologies and prestigious scientific partners, providing a stimulating environment for the development of diverse skills in biophysics, biotechnology and imaging.
