A Grand Est / Nord consortium awarded the label to accelerate research against pediatric cancers

The integrated research center "EN HOPE SMART4CBT", specialized in pediatric brain tumors, directed by Natacha Entz-Werlé (University and Hospital Professor) in Sophie Martin's OnKO3T team was promoted center of excellence by the French National Cancer Institute at the end of November 2023. The PIQ/RISEst platform led by Yves Mély (Laboratory of Bioimaging and Pathologies) is also involved in this consortium.

This interregional partnership (Strasbourg, Nancy and Lille) involves CNRS, INSERM, universities, university hospitals and cancer centers, as well as associations of patient’s parents.

This network between different teams provides a strong platform for multidisciplinary and multisectoral, fundamental, applied and medical research, which aims to improve knowledge on brain tumors and their resistance to radiotherapy.

This award gives the consortium the opportunity to become a driving force for more effective treatment of young patients with the highly aggressive tumors.
