An ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) grant of 150,000 € has been awarded to Andrey Klymchenko (Nanochemistry and Bioimaging team). PoC grants help ERC grant recipients to take their discoveries a step closer to the market or societal issues. Andrey was awarded this AmpliFISH at the end of his ERC Consolidator BrightSens project.
The AmpliFISH project aims to develop ultra-bright fluorescent nanoparticles to visualize targeted nucleic acids (RNA and DNA) inside cells with single-molecule sensitivity. The technology developed will be applied for simple and rapid detection of tumour markers to improve early cancer diagnosis.
