Congratulations to Oleksii Dukhno. On March 22nd 2019, Oleksii was awarded the PhD prize sponsored by the company Transgène at the prize awarding ceremony of the SBS (Promotion of the SBS centenary!). His thesis deals with single molecule microscopy of upconverting nanoparticles (Supervisor Y. Mély).
Since 1999, the SBS has been awarding Thesis Prizes which reward young students from the University of Strasbourg who have outstanding PhDs in biology. The Thesis Awards of the SBS thus contribute to the recognition of the excellence of research in biology in Strasbourg by highlighting scientific work of the highest importance. A Thesis Prize from the SBS is an acknowledgment for the recipient, for her/his intrinsic scientific quality and that of her/his work. In addition, a Thesis Prize gives her/him an important asset in her/his scientific career, which begins by giving her/him an additional distinction. Finally, a Thesis Prize from the SBS highlights the scientific work of the laboratory that welcomed the PhD student and her/his supervisor(s).
